Steelseries 6GV2 down arrow key problem
« on: Tue, 31 May 2011, 00:39:11 »
So I've searched this problem and there were 2 threads about this problem.

http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?9096-ione-Scorpius-M10-quot-z-quot-key-stuck-problem-with-switch-%28cherry-blue%29

and

http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?9553-Filco-Brown-Sticky-quot-O-quot&highlight=xacto

My problem is that my down arrow key for the 6GV2 doesn't press down as smoothly as the other keys. After taking off the key caps to look at the MX switch, I noticed that the stem around the down arrow key looked different than the other keys. Although I don't have pictures, these pictures from the first thread are exactly how my down arrow key looks like.

Now the solution to this problem is that I'm suppose to cut away at the burr. But I'm not exactly sure how to do that. I don't exactly know what I'm suppose to shave at. Could you guys give me any tips? I would greatly appreciate it =D!
