Please disregard this topic/thread.  It turns out I just had a defective keyboard.  I have since gotten a new Thermaltake Meka G1 and it's awesome with no problems whatsoever.  IMO, the Thermaltake Meka G1 is still the best Cherry MX Black mechanical keyboard on the market.

From what I remember, I think Steelseries is considered a decent board here but I think there might've been some issues with the keycaps? Or am I thinking of the Blackwidow?

Don't know that you're talking about. My G1 USB holes are normal. Maybe the thing you were trying to put in was too big. I tried putting in 4 different things and didn't have any problem. I don't like 6Gv2 big @$$ Enter key. I've also heard about keycaps issues on 6Gv2 that they are flimsy and keep flying off when you type. Here's a picture of 6Gv2.

I just checked the fold-out legs at the bottom and they're exactly the same size as Filco and a little shorter than Realforce 103U.

You can always return every keyboard you buy to get experience with all of them. Most of us acquire "finer taste" that way.

There is no perfect keyboard. Filco keyboards are the best with Cherry switches here.

If you do not like the Filco keycaps you could always buy another set of keycaps you like. Or better, learn to touch-type and you don't have to look at the keyboard.

Yeah the filco's usb ports are surely better than the ones present on g1

Raptor Gaming K1 beats the heck out of the SteelSeries boards, mainly cos it has decent keycaps.

The 6Gv2 is just fine otherwise. You could try and get it on the cheap and then splurge on a good set of keys.

Read the first post again...he never said the new board had to have usb ports.  He merely asked if there were other fullsize boards (with mx blacks) better than the steelseries 6g.

But then, if he's returning his G1 for the usb-ports are too tight, it would seem to indicate that such ports matter to him... In which case, NOT having them could pose a problem somewhere down the line.

Hey I remember that ride from when I was a little kid, but what does it have to do with keyboards?

Yeah, but he brought up the 6GV2 as an option which has no usb ports :)

I don't recall posting anything trolling Filco.
