Its 10:40 PM central standard time in the middle of the US and YouTube is dead. It had been so for 15 minutes. I don't think I've seen this for 5 years. Does anybody else get any videos where you are?

Must be some major maint. down time since its 11:15 now and still dead for me in Arkansas.

Pics or it didn't happen... but seriously, it's far more likely that you are facing local network issues like DNS failures than that you can't see YouTube.

Working fine here but apparently there have been multiple reports of youtube problems today from all over. Some suggested https:// might work when http:// does not which I can't test as it works fine here.

I've honestly just spent the last 3 hours watching youtube videos. I didn't notice the time, but then I saw this. Yeah, there haven't been any problems here.

Honestly this shouldn't be surprising. The available historic material alone would be sufficient for one or two cultural heritage titles. (If the YT guys were smart, they'd apply for one.) If you're interested in 20th century history, art or whatever, it truly is a goldmine.
