I bought a Filco tenkeyless "Otaku" edition keyboard (Cherry brown switches) from EliteKeyboards two or so years ago and I think one of the switches is sort of broken. The problem I'm having is that when I press my "Home" key, sometimes the key press doesn't register. If I press it hard, it always works. It seems like the tactile bump occurs at a higher level than key activation so I can feel that I pressed the key, but it doesn't actually produce a keystroke. I haven't noticed this problem on any other keys.
Aside from the rapidly de-laminated keycaps, I was really happy with this keyboard until this issue appeared. I was really expecting this keyboard to last a lot longer than two years. How difficult is it to replace a switch in a Filco keyboard and where is a good place to get a switch from (I live in Victoria, BC, Canada)?
