Hello all. I have been using my Leopold keyboard with MX browns for close to a month now, and I have a confession to make. The brown switches just don't seem to be all they were hyped up to be. Don't get me wrong, they are infinitely better than my old rubber dome, but I have issues the with tactility of them. The small bump that comes with the brown switches seems almost useless to me while typing at a respectable speed. Even when I pay attention and don't hammer each key, the bump still isn't noticeable and doesn't offer me any feedback to if they key has actuated or not.
At this point I would be very interested if anyone else shares my opinion on the brown switches.
Now on to the Unicomp. My conclusion after using the browns is that I might want to try a keyboard with a stronger tactile feel, so that it is more noticeable and useful when typing. I have read that the buckling springs are the best when it comes to tactility. But having not used a buckling spring keyboard, I would like to hear from you how much more tactile the Unicomp is compared to the browns.
I would also like your opinions on the Mx Red switches. Because of course, another conclusion to this could be that I'm totally wrong about tactile bumps in any keyboard, and they are just not for me, which would lead me to try reds.
