What can I expect from MX Red, black or clear switches coming from both Blues and a Model M? I like the feeling of both keyboards, I like the clickyness and the noise, but I'm up to try something new, I just don't want to buy a new keyboard and it not feel like a true mechanical keyboard, but just a rubber dome.

O, and I haven't bought a mechanical keyboard in over a year, so whats up with this KBC poker keyboard? And why is it like 40%? Does that mean its 40% the size of a normal keyboard, or 40% mechanical?

:)

You can expect less tactility. That's significantly less tactility from the Clear switches and no tactility from the Red / Black since they are linear. No mechanical keyboard will feel quite like a rubber dome board, but aside from that anything goes. As for the Poker, you can find a bunch of great reviews if you search in the review section (including one from me, Cherry Blue version). The 40% refers to the layout, it's exactly the size and keys from the main alphanumeric section of your keyboard, everything is still mechanical. If you want a nice portable keyboard to take with you on the go, I would consider a Poker with Cherry Blues.

It also pings.

So, how do they make it 40% smaller? by just cutting off the arrow keys and num pad? or do they do that and also make everything smaller so it feels like i'm typing on a phone?

I still don't know what you mean by ping, the only thing I know that ping stands for is to ping an ip.

New here and to keyboards, but I believe the 40% refers to the number of keys, 40% of the standard 104. No separate keys for most functions, numbers, etc. Letters and keys to toggle the keys to yield something other than a letter (embedded numpad, etc.).

I refer you to the reviews because they should answers your questions. If you need a size comparison, read my review and you'll see exactly how big it is compared to a more or less standard keyboard.
