Do MX Blues take a while to "break in"?

Hey guys, I just bought a CM Storm QF Rapid with MX Blues recently, and I overall love the solid build quality of the board. The only thing that sort of sticks out to me is the feeling that some of the keys, particularly the larger ones like Shift, Backspace, etc., feel a little "stiff" to me. They seem to need a bit more force to push down than the rest. I'm not sure if I'm imagining things or if it's by design. Do they tend to get easier to press as I get used to them?

Stabilizers can add a bit of extra friction on the larger keys that have them. Costar type usually break in and will feel even after a short time if not immediately. If not, first check an make sure keycaps seated properly. if it is and still feels rough you can try adding some lubricant to it followed by some key spamming.

Also it's a new board, and if you are not used to MX switch you will require a short break in period as well before you get used to the different feeling from your prior keyboard.

Okay that makes sense, thanks. Yeah, I figured much of it had to do with my own hands not being used to the new feel and form factor yet. I don't think any of the keycaps are seated badly, so it's likely just the new board crispness.

Mine took a couple of days to start feeling right. When I first got it, it felt a little too crisp as you say it.

It does take a bit for blues to break in. Just mash on the alpha keys a bit and then compare how the alpha keys compare to something like the function row keys.

The RipOmeter wont measure the feel of the key, only the actuation force ... So aint really relevant, although it can be useful to verify the switches

Browns deffinetly break in so I guess blues do as well. Never had a new blue board though.

Its the metal leaf in the switch housing that "breaks in"

That being said it will change a bit but I wouldn't expect it to be drastic.

I've had my QF Rapid w/ Blues for a while now, and it still definitely feels more stiff than my old Das Keyboard.

Well I got the same feeling about my Browns. At the start they felt a little bit sloppy but now that I used them for a month they feel really good. Maybe it's just me getting used to them.
