Some guys round here have alps keyboards. We never have group buys for them. Should we start one? I would like to keep it simple with using old school ibm colours. Any thoughts/intrest?

I would also prefer not to run this as I live in the UK and getting SP to ship from US to UK then me shipping it back to the US seems a bit silly.

I'm interested in one or possibly two. I've just been getting into Alps and I feel like they really need more attention around here!

I wouldn't mind getting keycaps that would fit on my Ducky Green ALPS board.

Same here but I doubt if this will ever take off.  I've seen at least 2 - 3 IC threads already (for ALPS keycaps) since I've been here and none of them has gained enough interest.  I need some for my Filco Zero. =(

The problem is ALPS compatibility is much worse than Cherry.

I suspect almost all the odd-sized keys (modifiers, etc.) from a DSI 6600 won't fit on a Ducky 1087/1008XM.

But I already have this. =(

Gl, I really wish ALPS keycap buys would take off.
If you live in AZ you can try my keyboards. I usually keep plenty of different ALPS and MX and buckling springs.

going by the DCS quotes we've been getting, i think we'd need something like 25+ sets to make this reasonable. so not looking promising so far.

hmm if this goes through, it will be on the way to making my Ducky almost perfect. If I get DS keycap, then I just need a less wobbly case, and some way to replace the white ALPS on the modifier keys then this KB could be perfect!

75 sets        $48.66 / set

I wonder what space bars this would fit?  I suspect the most popular ALPS board would be Ducky, Northgate, Dell, SIIG, etc... I suspect making even half the interested parties happy would be quite difficult.  Doesn't mean I am not interested though.

IBM color scheme?

Didn't we want to do cream&green?

Or was it the usual misunderstanding?

However, here are the color codes (exact match!):

Let's collect orders, maybe we find enough people to get a good price.

I'll take 2 and would take also 2 for the number pad and some row 1 symbol keys (like star, diamond, square, circle, triangle or so) to put them on those many fucntion keys of my Ortek.

To be honest, I don't see a huge advantage replacing the beige keys on my AT102W with more beige keys ... And they would look silly on a TP3.

What I miss with ALPS is things like jolly roger modifiers, RGB modifiers, Geek Hack escape, all the trimmings that you can fit to a Cherry keyboard. If GH did an ALPS key, I could have left the black Esc key on that FILCO Zero ;-) (I have no expectation of the green F1-12 even if the thread starter is another Briton who may have actually used Acorns.)

The only full keyset that actually interests me – but only for a black keyboard (i.e. the FILCO Zero 105 that nobody sells) – is that incredible Diablo one. I may get it – I just suck at Costar stabilisers.

The problem for me, fundamentally, is that I want ISO + tenkey, and there just aren't any. I don't use ALPS because the frigging keyboards don't exist. ALPS died a death long before people grudgingly agreed on the Model M layout. Only the AT102W has a Model M layout and the switches suck.

I, too, would like something with a bit more "flavor" than beige or off white seeing as how you can basically harvest these via thrift store purchases.

IBM color scheme can be played with? Perhaps use the green from the old alt key text and make the "moogles" that color (like 7bit said a cream and green)? Or a solid "blue label" IBM blue (blue and cream)? I'd love blue.

I love me some alps anyhow, so I'd be in for 1 set if you go plain jane and probably 2 or 3 if we get funky.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

I am reluctant to hop on this train of hope for a full set as compatibility for interested parties would be tough.  Now I think it would be easier to test the waters here with a small group buy for modifiers or something, but I am way to lazy to start anything like that so I will just continue to arm chair quarterback.

Should be at least for tenkeyless plus numpad, plus some caps which could be put on those many function keys of my Ortek.

This is what I had in mind for the green F-keys:

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 48613[/ATTACH]

Not sure on the exact shade without seeing a NIB Acorn Archimedes A3010 in person, but something like that. Definitely blue-green, not pure green.

Black escape key is off my FILCO Zero – hence the wrong font!

I will commit to two sets if they fit either a Ducky 1087 XM and Dell AT101W, one set if only they only fit one.  I have a set of blue ALPS switches coming that will need a new home, and a set of double shot caps lingering in the future would motivate me.

Just finished dumping a set of complicated blue ALPS into a new board, and damn is it fugly with a mix match of keys I scrounged up to cover it.  I over cooked the set of light toned cap from the Dell AT101W that the switches went into when I was trying to dye them.  Man do I wish this would happen ;/
