A few questions about Ducky boards on PChome
« on: Thu, 17 May 2012, 05:34:02 »
EDIT: thanks to squarebox for pointing out my obvious lack in reading skills. However, I'd still appreciate answers to my other questions as I may end up getting a Ducky with mx blacks- they seem pretty cheap and I've not tried blacks yet:

Hi guys,

I have a few questions about the following Ducky boards- hopefully someone will be able to answer them easily:

http://global.pchome.com.tw/english/?mod=item&func=exhibit&IT_NO=DCAH0X-A58945616&SR_NO=SBAE0Q&ROWNO=4&tm=e

-Is this a good price for these? Seems really cheap- would work out around $55 shipped for either of them. They are brand new right?

-When they say 'cherry mx green axis' are they actually referring to cherry mx green switches (which from what I understand are like stiffer mx blues) or is it a case of 'lost in translation' and they are simply mx blues?

-What is the build quality like of Ducky boards, compared to Leopold/Filco?

-What stabilisers to Ducky boards use?

-Do Ducky use 'standard' keycaps? One thing I really disliked about my old Leopold board was the non-standard spacebar. I want to make sure that if I buy another cherry mx board, I get one that is compatible with 'standard' cherry keycaps so I can easily order replacement keycaps from groupbys etc.

I was going to buy my wife a pink PLU-87 board, but depending on what answers I get to the above I may end up giving her my white choc mini and buying a Ducky board for myself :-)

Thanks in advance for your help

If you read carefully, it says XM green axis mechanical keyboard.

It's not using Cherry MX switches. Ducky XM series are using ALPS switches.
