And they've re-instated the NC/NY/IL ban.  WTF, Newegg... why can you not send me a damn board?  I just got one of these in October and had it shipped to me here in NC, no problem.

That and the occasional "mushy" keys. I already pulled the trigger on it so I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get a faulty board... Newegg has like the worst RMA policies.

Are the stabilizers like filco since they're rumored to be from the same OEM?

Yep, they are exactly the same from what I can tell from pictures. I don't have a Filco, but I just recently changed the keycaps on my RK-9000. So I'm now more familiar with the stabilizers than I'd ever hope to be.

I have one (and a Filco) and I find them VERY comparable. Haven't done an actual side-by-side, but I type on both of them every day and couldn't tell you the difference if you blindfolded me and put my hands on homerow.

Me to, same exact situation. My blue is the old original with non-detachable cord, all of the talk about the allegedly fragile mini-USB connector scares me a bit but not enough to resist.  Wondering if it needs some sort of stabilization / reinforcement but guess I'll wait and see what it looks like when I get it and probably look around a bit more at what others are saying/doing.

Me to and I didn't even think my order had been processed, hah.  I forgot my credit card verification site password (it was saved on a laptop that has crashed) so I closed the window with the intention of trying to recover that password later.  Well, guess that verification process doesn't really work cause the order went through anyway. Actually that's fine with me but does make one wonder.

I have 2 boards, one the old make and one the new. I've had 0 problems with the mini-usb connector, but I also don't move it around ever. Overall the build quality of the board is a little bit lower than the old model. The plastic used on the casing is cheaper feeling and the feet slide around a lot. I actually swapped the feet out from my old board and it helped that problem though. But anyway, as long as you don't pull around a lot on the mini-usb port, I don't really see why you'd have an issue with it.

Damn, I want one with blacks AND reds just because the reds are such a damn good deal!

My wife says one or the other so i'm getting one with Blacks. a 104 with Reds would be goofy IMO.

Holy cow! and it's ordered, 104 black rosewill on the way.

TBH I figured my first cherry board would be a Leopold from EK.

What other keyboards do you own? If you own others, is one a Filco? And how does the Rosewill compare to it?

I've always considered reds to be a "take a load off" switch, and i'm not sure why somebody would need a keypad for that.

Are you insinuating something? Because it sounds to me like you're basically inviting him to say that the rosewill is crap compared to a filco.

I just got mine this morning. I had it shipped to my office, so it was waiting for me when I got here this morning. I must say, I do so like these plate-mounted reds with Costar stabilizers. Much, much nicer than the Poker with reds that I tried and sold. These feel like they should, a lighter version of the Filco with blacks I had. I can't decide yet if I like them as much as I like browns, but it's probably going to be a close call. Thanks to the OP for letting us know about this great deal!

No problem, glad I could contribute. I just returned from vacation to my RK-9000 with reds, and I can't really decide how I feel about them. Definitely gonna have to give it a few days before I make up my mind on them. It just feels so different from any board I've used before. My other board is a blue. I might just have to buy one with browns now (i've used blacks and I hated them).

Godamn IL restriction...I would try blues for that price, and I love my Rosewill w/ Browns

I'm going to give the blues an honest try, but if I don't like them, I'll be selling it. You want first dibs?

I'm liking my reds, not as much as my browns but way more than the blues

I just bought one with blues and one with reds

So cheap it's worth it, plus they threw in a free web cam

The cam is allways useful.
