FS: Poker Red
« on: Mon, 10 September 2012, 18:22:43 »
So in order to fund my education, I am deciding to let go of my beloved Poker Reds.

They basically look like how the do from this video:
feature=plcp

I will post up some pictures later. There's basically some shine on the spacebar and some popular letters (e.g. A... of the top of my head.) The keys are ABS... it's a stock Poker Reds that have been well loved.

I'm shipping from London, Ontario, Canada. Let me know if you want to pick them up.

I'm also going to try to let them go at around $70100CAD+shipping OBO. That's one and a half textbook guys D: help out a poor student will you?

>Please read my second post to explain the price change.

Okay, for whatever happy reason, there seems to be great interest in the board, which I am very happy about, and someone offered to pay $80 for the board instead.

And metalllqaz has kindly told me the board can fetch $100.

SO, even though I feel terribly shoddy for doing so, I am changing the asking price to $100 OBO and see if anyone is still interested. I am sincerely sorry, but really, every dollar helps my situation right now. Please try to understand.

IF the board cannot sell in 3 days at that price, I'll let it go for whoever offers the highest price, which is currently at the $80 right now.

Thanks again for your understanding.

Okay now I feel really bad for whoever was actually trying to buy that nice board :(
Of course, if you really need to buy textbooks, I suppose I can't feel that bad...

This reminded me once upon a time, I paid the amount which is equal to my monthly rent for one single piece of textbook book.

Later on, second handed books on amazon and international edition on ebay saved my wallet.

And rent your texbooks if you can! It's a bit of a pain since you're on a schedule to return them, but it's also soooo much cheaper. Ebooks as well.

If you list it and it's sold at $70, you're obligated to sell it, not bait and switch. This was not the best practice to sell something on here.

Lesson learned, but your reputation is tarnished.

Unfortunately I agree.  I foolishly opened my yapper as a commentary on how popular pokers with reds seem to be.  I thought the deal was done.

Yes, I have to agree. If you list something for a certain price, and you get a buyer at that price, it's my opinion that you should sell it to them at that price. If you find out later you sold it too cheaply, that's a lesson learned for you. There is a Price Check thread stickied here in the Classifieds you could have posted in beforehand if you had a question as to the item's worth.

And to the person who offered $80 for it via PM, just to try and snag it from under the first buyer who agreed to pay the asking price, that is the kind of shady dealing we want no part of, here in our community. You should be ashamed.

Just a small announcement
To all those who said that I have done wrong. Yes, I know, and I am sorry. I really am apologetic, and I refuse to just erase traces of that, as you can see in my first post. Not that it makes a huge difference, I know, but... anyway.
I know GH Classifieds is really an honour-system, so I don't really have anything to excuse what I did. I am sorry.

To interested buyers
That being said, I'm currently entertaining some offers for full price. Please PM me if you're interested.

I think it's safe to say that the BO part of OBO would have easily surpassed $100. This doesn't seem like such a big deal to me.

Also: you really going to hate a guy for trying to get the real value of his possessions? When he's raising money for TEXTBOOKS? Come on, patting yourself on the back about getting a mechanical from k-mart for $6 is one thing, but cropping a forum member off at the knees for a poker red is quite another. Take it easy, friends.

Real value? as defined by what and/or who?  If thats the case, we might as well quit selling items and making every classified thread an auction, so we can all get the "real price" for our goods.   And there is a huge difference between getting a deal from a company going out of business disposing of their used equipment they'd otherwise just throw away, and someone offering an item at price X and changing it to price Y after he gets a butt load of PM's.  They aren't even remotely related, it was a terrible analogy all around.

But in the end,  this isnt a huge deal, its just lame.  It's definitely not as bad since he is using it for school, but still lame nonetheless.  He's tarnished his rep around here for sure, at the expense of $30.  Oh well, at least someone well be enjoying a nice red poker
