Need Help in deciding which keyboard to buy
« on: Tue, 13 November 2012, 19:39:27 »
I'll get straight to the point:
I'm deciding between the
Ducky TKL http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=165
KBT Race http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=145
or the CM Quickfire Rapid

Or any other suggestions that you guys might have. I'm certain I want either MX Brown or Blue switches and, as you can tell, backlighting is a huge plus for me.

Also, I heard that the KBT Race has lots of backlighting issues and I was wondering if this was true? If that's the case, I'll most likely go with the Ducky TKL.

I would narrow down the choices down to: CM vs Quack!
\\\\ DSI Mac Modular Keyboard (Brown) w/ Leo  Blank Keycaps //
\\\\ Leopold 87keys Keyboard (Brown) w/ Black CherryCorp + SP DoubleShots //
\\\\ Filco Majestouch 2 NINJA (Black) w/ White CherryCorp + SP DoublsShots //

Don't know about the Race, but the Ducky is a good solid board (I have two Shine version 1's).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Some of the Race has control quality issue. Between CM quickfire vs Ducky, it's really up to you how bad you want LED backlit t justify the price difference.
