Is it safe to go from AT to PS2 to USB with adapters?
« on: Fri, 31 January 2014, 15:39:27 »
I have an extremely rare, interesting Nickeldeon keyboard from 1994.  It has an AT connector.  I found a passive AT to PS2 connector that I am using right now.  However I'd like to try it on USB.  I just want to make sure I don't damage anything.

I have this USB adapter that I would tag on to the passive ps2 adapter.  Would this be safe for both my keyboard and motherboard?

Thanks!

That should work fine. You won't break anything, but sometimes you'll find an old keyboard that won't work with the Blue Cube, and you will need to try another PS/2 to USB converter. My Monterey K102 AT keyboard is one — won't work at all with a Blue Cube, but it's fine with a lousy Belkin. I've used a lot of AT keyboards with AT→PS/2→USB.
