I didn't know what section to really put this in, but basically 99 % of the time that I come across a for sale thread, I notice there's no indication of what country the item is being sent from. I don't really want to have to go through peoples post history in an attempt to try to narrow down their location or  individually post in each thread asking them. So can people please either fill in a location on their profile or at least mention it in their post. Thank you.  :D

Or if people would fill out location in profile info they wouldn't even have to remember

Haha. I'm not really mad, just thought that perhaps people might take notice of it if it's in caps :P It does get a bit frustrating on occasions though. :)

This was hashed through a while ago, but I don't think anything changed as a result:

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I think it's fine for people to say ConUS only. It's a lot of bother to sort out international postage and customs forms. Here, the sellers have all the power and it's their prerogative. (I'm Aussie BTW so I've had my fair share of woes.)

anyway, the reason I (for the most part) only ship within the US is due to two jackasses i've had to deal with.

packages on this site cost way too much for them to be lost overseas and i really dont feel like spending MY money over something I had no control over.

Not your product to sell so it is not the buyers choice who is able to buy it. It is only fair yet unfair.
As long as if some of us have dignity for the people that we are servicing. If they want to pay more to ship it farther or faster, well they are paying for it. Shipping over seas could be an anxious process though.

Um, I am pretty sure the people that say that Murica is the only country are just trolling. A lot of us know that there are people from other countries than Murica here. But on the contrary this community's majority is from Murica. We are only more special here because we just have more of us here.  You guys are just not special for any reason so don't expect anything special.  :p

Makes me thankful that Australia uses the US keyboard layout.  At least GBs are a bit easier, even if shipping costs are ridiculous.

Problem is a lot of people don't want to pay the shipping (in my experience) and when I have done international shipping it is a large hassle where if I do conus I can just throw it in a flat rate box and off it goes nice and easy.

OR

I'm lazy, conus is easy.

Well my problem is I don't want to just assume everyone posting is from America and if people want to seriously sell something, how hard is it to write what country you're in? Laziness. :P

Super duper hard. I usually put it in my threads that it is CONUS only or to PM me if your out of country and actually serious. I don't say where I live though, it's just to the left of the post.

I've shipped equips as far as Mongolia.. and every time it has been a serious risk to my reputation and my wallet.  MURRICANs just like anywhere else have a hard time sticking their neck out especially when some of them (me on occasion) can't afford for the package to get their in more than one piece.

sure, pay me extra for the time i have to spend waiting on line at the post office to submit my customs form instead of just printing postage from my computer.
also understand that i will bear 0 risk and all insurance claims for international first class mail is basically useless.

i ship continental USA only to save myself the hassle of dealing with the above problems, as everyone wants cheapest shipping possible.
if i have something you're interested in, by all means PM me and offer your UPS/FedEx account number and i'll gladly ship it for you with insurance/signature confirmation.  but if you want me to waste my time waiting over an hour at my post office to send it, no thanks =)

Right but that's anecdotal evidence of how things are at the post office near you in your country. If someone's closest post office is one that is consistently busy it's going to take a long time.

maybe you're just living in a low pop area, i assure you with 1 main post office open past 5PM on weekdays in a 8 mile radius queens, NY it takes forever to wait on line to mail packages.
it doesn't matter where i mail it, its the fact that you have to wait on a 4 row deep line to do it.
