Does anyone know the difference between type-s and the standard?

The Type-S has some sort of foam mat separating the barrel from the body of the keyboard. It offers a silencing factor, though not worth $400, in my opinion. I'd much rather have the HHMX.

You can also mod a normal HHKB with rubber bands used for braces. Or with thin foam cut. There's a few threads on here and DT. To make your own 'type-s'

Very nice guide, I'm going to attempt Mod 3 and the ones with Sugru and see how that turns out!
