[WTB] G80-2100 HDU
« on: Wed, 16 January 2013, 09:27:19 »
I know these guys are hard to find sometimes, so I'm hoping someone somewhere has one that they're willing to part with. So far my collection of keyboards is exclusively vintage Model M's and a single NIB Northgate Omnikey Ultra T.

(crosses fingers)

Help a fellow GHer out, eh?

I am located in New York, would entertain international shipping if that's what it would take.

Did you ever get a response to this query?  I'm looking for one of these boards as well, or at least the keycaps.

Is this an example of a "necro-thread?"

This is not a necrothread. I do have a bead on a G80-2100, and will likely have it next week. Will post pics!

I got one, finally. Vintage blacks type like sweet butter spread along the curve of Scarlett Johansson's backside. Teeny tiny backspace and badonka-donk Enter key a little off-putting, but I wouldn't kick this keyboard out of bed. Also, I'm imagining a board completely comprised of superblacks. If that keyboard existed I could type on it for a week and then crush bricks with my hands.

I will be typing all excellence today on my new G80-2100!

 :D

Photos when my potato phone recharges.

Howd you get one?

A kind GH member knew I was on the lookout for one, and he had one he was willing to sell. Very smooth keypress on this. I've never been a huge fan of keys that don't click, but these are downright buttery. Loving them. I still have to play around with the programming function, and figure out how it works. After getting this keyboard I think I've pretty much gotten every keyboard holy grail I wanted.

This is a seriously expensive hobby. I now have to get down to the business of writing and programming, LOL!

Oh, the promised horrible potato pics.
