Help Switch Top
« on: Fri, 26 April 2013, 17:33:20 »
I just got my CM Storm keyboard today.
The Crtl keyhold idk what you guys call it has Cherry written on it the stem goes through it. I could not manage to get it on.
So I took it off entirely. How do I put it back on?

This is what I did.
how can I put it back on?

I'm confused how you got it off at all. Removing the switch top like in that video is not possible with your keyboard without desoldering the switch.

Could you post a pic of where the switch used to be on the keyboard? I think it would be easier to understand that way.

And the keyboard arrived with the switch top detached?

CM Storm RF Mx Browns? Is that a new one?

I have never taken my switches off like that on a CM board.

Maybe you can take it off but not put it back on.

ListerLister was showing how to take the switch apart from a custom made plate. Usually you have to desolder each switch, then take it apart.

Do you know how to solder?

Take pictures of your keyboard that you need help with.

I think you might have broken the switch.. That video shows how to remove switch tops from a custom plate, not the stock QFR plate.

If you take pictures it'd be easier to identify the problem.

Take pictures and let us know what the damage (if any) is. I have a spare brown you can have if you broke the housing.
