I recommend the razer deathadder 2013. Very nice mouse. Fits well with palm and claw grip. Very good sensor.

In the end, if the design fits well with you hand go for it. Personally, what I find the hardest when choosing a mouse is being sure it will fit well with my hand (size, grip). But I must say that this one is very versatile in that regard.

The price is not cheap but it is not overpriced either (around 70$ +- 10$ I suppose)

I have a DA 2013 as well. With the LEDs turned off this mouse is not only one of the best mouses with a flawless sensor but also one of the best looking (I mean it's ok if people like the green scrollwheel glow, but I personally can't stand the pulsating Razer logo). Has a very nice finish and the rubber on the sides is nice as well (I tend to get sweaty hands and this feels a lot better and more grippy than my previous mouse, a Microsoft Sidewinder). However you should always try a mouse first in a store if possible, also take a look at this list: http://www.esreality.com/index.php?a=post&id=2024663

Thermaltake Theron.  It's a nice mouse.

Logitech G400, Razer Deathadder Black, Mionix Naos (3200, 5000, or 8200), Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical, a couple of Cooler Master mice.  And avoid anything R.A.T.

My 5000 is one of the best mice I have ever owned.  For OP, the 8200 is an improved version of the 5000, but without a weight kit.

I really like mice made by Zowie: http://www.zowiegear.com/ .One of the few "gamer" brands that offer good quality at decent prices. I use their AM mouse which I got after about 3 years with a Razer lachesis

If you're looking for a good mouse for not a lot of cash I can heartily recommend the Logitech G400 and the Razer Abyssus, those are some of best mice on the market and they're also some of the cheapest ones.

I can honestly say the opposite. I had a RAT 7, and I really enjoyed it. It worked well, and only failed because of an error on my part (note: do NOT wrap the cable around the mouse). I use higher DPI, so the Z-Axis bug didn't affect me. It felt great.

(hardly)TL;DR: If you use a higher DPI (Don't lift the mouse), then I can highly recommend the RAT 7.

For many people, the Z-axis bug and the Philips Twin Eye sensor makes the mouse a minefield.  The mouse also has a reputation for dying rather quickly.  It's not uncommon to find people who have gone through 3 and 4 of them.

I play on low sensitivity and simply can not use that sensor.

I recommend the Zowie FK as an alternative to the sensei with the same shape. It is driverless and without prediction, acceleration, and its optical sensor tracks well on a lot of surfaces. It also has a very low lift off distance. Though of course, most important thing ( and the reason why mice recommendations are hard to make) is that it fits your grip and anatomy.

I think the G400 is a good suggestion as well. A lot of people like its shape, it is relatively cheap, and it has one of the best sensors on the market. Better than a lot of the laser sensors found in much more expensive flagship models.

I wish I had known this sooner. I have had the RAT7 for about 10 months now and so far I have had very little problem with it.

http://www.overclock.net/t/854100/gaming-sensor-list

Here's a list of mice that have either the Avago 3800 or Avago 9500 series.
If you are serious, and playing shooters and the like, the 3800 is prob what you should be looking at.
Otherwise, 9500 isn't too bad. It's a ~5% mouse acceleration so a very minor deal.

That list is pretty much all you really need to look up. Just categorize your grip style and go for it.

I personally use the Roccat Savu since I claw.

I play with a Logitech G9. Its a bit of a tricky mouse to get use to with larger hands, but once you've become accustomed to the claw grip style it is amazing. You can change mouse speed on the fly, and even unlock the mouse wheel to freely scroll web pages.

I know this is a rather unpopular choice but I love my rat 7 and yes I know about the Z-axis bug what most people don't know is the problems are limited to the  version of the rat 7 with the half circle sensor that cyborg made and all of the mad catz versions, the one with full circle sensor made by cyborg works perfectly I've had one now for over three years and it hasn't had any problems at all, that being said I would not recommend buying one unless you check the sensor first which is not likely unless you buy it second hand from e-bay (I bought an extra one from e-bay for my second computer).

I just got a G9X for my home rig and it's amazing. I had a DeathAdder 2013 but it was too big for my hands. At work I use an Abyssus and it's also really nice. I have small hands so I need smaller mice. I palm grip both :D

Love my DA black.  Went through a ton of mice trying to find one for my grip (claw in front, but palm in back). I really liked the Wheel mouse optical by Microsoft, but ended up giving it away when I found a deal on a used Deathadder.  Great feeling mouse.

G400 is pretty good for what is essentially a budget mouse, if you want all the bells and whistles of a higher end mouse look into razer or steel series.
