Keycap broken?
« on: Sun, 11 January 2015, 19:11:28 »
Hi,

After spilling fruit juice on my Matias mini tactile pro keyboard, one of the keys became sticky. I tried to remove the key in order to clean it but I'm afraid I may have accidentally broken they keycap, as trying to get it back into place seems to have become impossible.

Is there someone who, by looking at the picture, is able to tell me if I've actually broken my keyboard?

Thanks a lot for any help!

oh wow, I knew alps caps always fit pretty tight, but that's ridiculous. You actually took the entire stem and top housing off with the caps. Nothing you can't fix, unless you actually broke the tabs on the bottom of the housing, which you may have

Thanks for your reply.

So there is still a part of the keycap mechanism connected to the keyboard which should first be removed?

Well, assuming that the clips that hold the housing top on aren't broken, you should be able just to pop it back into place. You'll also need to find the spring
