I'm not sure one switch is going to be very helpful in really experiencing what modded switches have to offer.

I know. That can be said for all key testers, but it gives me a general idea of what to expect.

^ Yeah, I would be willing to make you a switch tester like that, but I'm not sure how helpful it would be in determining which switches you like best. You can't really get a good feel for different switch types without trying them in a keyboard.

Also, switch feel can be very subjective, depending on if the switches are PCB or plate mounted, what keycaps you are using, whether the keyboard has a metal or plastic case, etc.

Okay, I'll make you one. Just give me a little time to cut down a spare plate for it. :)

I can make you one using one of those numpads available in the Great Finds section.  You gotta pay for parts and shipping though.

BTW I recommend a working switch tester...important to see live feedback for when the switches are registering.

I too, wish this existed, so I could try various modded switches just to get a feel for them.

Though, yeah, one key isn't going to be all that helpful, it's still at least something of an idea. (IMO rows of 4 switches would be at least somewhat useful, though, let you feel at least a hand's worth of switches.)

Not really relevant to op getting a tester but I think switch testers are a nice novelty.  In addition to being able to try different switch types it is something to set on your desk at work.  Looks cool,  fun to play with and a conversation starter.  I should really get one at some point.

I think ultamately someone needs to make one with all types of cherry mx key switches including the modded variations like the jailhouse blues and panda clears described earlier. I would throw my money at the monitor.

This is the testing plate that I ordered, you can get the switches from 7bit in the market at 0,65 eur/each

You can find the orings on ebay or aliexpress for 1.5 eur delivered (150 pieces).

If you're located in the USA, I have a tester I can loan you to test out. But I see JD is already hooking you up :)
