Share your JIS Keyboard remapped layout
« on: Tue, 20 January 2015, 02:53:32 »
I have it like this:
Yen > Delete
Non-conversion > Space
Conversion > Space
KANA > Space
Back slash > Shift

They will remain like this until I can get used to the small Back Space, Shift and Space keys.

I will try the following later:
Non-conversion > Delete
Conversion > Back Space
KANA > Enter

I did more or less the same thing as you. The smaller backspace is what was killer to me and I always ended up double tapping with the remapped one.

Otherwise I was fine with the spacebar being smaller

As a minimal base something like this:

88203-0

Much more useful when configured with dual-role mods.

GL1TCH3D, to my surprise the smaller Back space and Space are not giving me any problem. Shift will take a while to get used to.

islisis, remapping Non-conversion and conversion to Shift looks like a good idea.

Almost the same as you.
Just i got double backspace at the top and left of the space bar i have win key because mine has FN key on the left, so no win key on the left. Aaand the ones on the right of the space are of no use for me.
The shift and win keys are what bugs the most. ATM i am really mad at the shift. Hate the enter as well...

Interesting xD

I feel like the only one that really had problems with the backspace?

The spacebar was fine. I've typed on keyboards with smaller than 2u spacebars (at work I use a 9u or something silly...)

Long ago I had been an AX keyboard user and satisfied with its layout, so I would use AX layout if I have to use JIS keyobard. I'll remap a key on the left of space(無変換) to Alt and other Japanese keys won't be used. In those day I had tried various setting on thumb keys and I found my thumbs were lazy and not so clever, now that I press only Space with right thumb and only Alt with left on US layout.
