Does this keyboard have Vintage MX Blacks?
« on: Fri, 20 February 2015, 14:20:12 »
Hey guys I recent picked up the keyboard in this post: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wyse-Link-General-Terminal-Keyboard-Enhanced-PC-PCE-50-120-000-102-EPC-RJ11-US-/331485175996? and I was wondering if it had vintage blacks?

Vintage is hype.  Aged broken in Blacks is what matters.

And Wyse boards have a hodgepodge of three or four different Blacks, "vintage," old, new, and other old ones.  You never know what you're gonna get.

Yes, and most likely they will be mixed within the same keyboard. You will have to visually inspect each switch to tell if it's a vintage switch or not.

I would say that it is more important to look at the date of the board.
I have a G80-2100 from 1994. It's not that old, but it's used as hell and just as smooth.

There is also Gatorade hype.... In case you aren't aware, Gatorade is a mockery of the company Gateron which is said to make the smoothest, and tightest stock linear switches.
Pretty much the only Cherry clone to consider.
