MX Spring Swap Combination Chart
« on: Sun, 19 April 2015, 08:45:13 »

Some of these hypothetical ones sound interesting - others sound just plain awful :)

If any of these hypothetical ones already exist I'd like to update the chart - also, if you think my hypothetical names are rubbish, your suggestions are appreciated!

Which switches would you want to try?

I was quite sure that there were substantially two springs: light (red switch) and heavy (black switch), and that the other springs differ very lightly, if they were different, from these two.

I call Red and Blacks with Clear switches Ghost Reds or Ghost Blacks.  The name seems to have caught on.  They're much nicer, IMO, than Blacks or Reds.

As for Browns with heavier switches, I think they can just be called **** or scratchy linears.

Yep. It's really not a surprise that no one has modded browns. I prefer Ghost linear to my name so ill replace it.

Browns with a heavier spring go from scratchy crap to heavier with a mushy bump. So from bad to worse.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

We should stop the egotistical naming conventions and use instead the binomial nomenclature: first the stem type, second the spring.
"The first part of the name identifies the genus to which the species belongs; the second part identifies the species within the genus. For example, humans belong to the genus Homo and within this genus to the species Homo sapiens."

Mx Reddum mx clearum
Would be an mx red with a mx clear spring.

Then we could have the
Mx red gaterus clarus
Mx red spritum 65
