BFace Build Log
« on: Thu, 09 July 2015, 20:50:02 »
More
Preface:
I originally built this in Feb, and it was my first Kustom, but then I broke the PCB, and I recently got a new one, and it has stayed unbuilt, so I sold it as a board that I would custom build to their preferences. There are also some in-progress photos that are missing, but I can't be bothered to dig them up.

Disassembled Switches (Worn in clears from a Skidata board, had to clean out all the diodes)

Stems (and a spring) in isopropyl alcohol to clean of all the gunk from the past 21 years

Switch casing in isopropyl alcohol to clean of all the gunk from the past 21 years

Gold 62g springs!

Switches after being lubed, spring swapped, stickered, SIP socketed, and clear topped (I love the way  these look!)

Switches put in place on the plate, ready for soldering!

Switches soldered!

Caps off photo

Another angle

My blank blue IMSTO caps on (sadly they aren't going where the board is going)

I have never done ergoclears properly, and some people might say that I did these wrong as far as lube goes, but from the typing I did on it I really like them, and will be doing it with my next boards, but maybe with 67g springs. :)

And typing video (seizure warning, seriously)

Those LEDs! My eyeballs hurt.

Nice job on the build. Those clear-topped switches look awesome.

did you buy the skidata off ebay for what $140 shipped I think the guy was asking?  And was it worth it?
No, but skidata's are worth the price, you get the caps, the switches, and the stabs. I am looking to buy more in the future if  you want to hop on, PM me.
