POM Rainbow blank keycaps installation
« on: Thu, 03 December 2015, 12:12:26 »
Hello! I have read multiple threads about installing blank keycaps but Im just stumped. I have these rainbow pom ones and for the life of me I can't figure out where they go. Well, I have a general idea where to put them according to colors but some are smaller than the other and I have no idea what row to put them on. If someone is kind enough to help me I would appreciate it.

The caps get taller as you go up the board (so the F1-F12 keys are the tallest). They should be the same width as the caps they're replacing, so start matching them and replacing them.

The best way is to flip them over and line them up. That way you can tell right the way the caps' alignments. Once you have them all group up according, use the modifiers such as Cap, Enter, Shift, Space bar to determine where should they go.

Well, not really, bottom row caps are taller than home row caps in general. It's the angle that changes as you go up that should be used as an indicator for the main area of the board with top rows being both "flatter" and taller.

You can also reference this image to see which should go where:

Use the OEM row.

Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Hey there, fellow Miamian!

If you're still having trouble why don't you start with this:
 - Separate the keycaps into piles according to their slope (as shown by Delirious).
 - Take a picture of the piles and post it up here.
 - I (or someone else here) will identify them for you and let you know which cap goes on which row.

Easy as pie!

I don't think it's lack of instruction that's stopping her.

We've posted plenty of guidance on how to install these, and you haven't told us why the steps that we offered haven't worked, or whether you've even attempted to follow the instructions we've provided. No one can or will help you if you don't at least try and explain what went wrong.
