V60 dead or am I doing something wrong?
« on: Mon, 22 February 2016, 04:50:08 »
Hi,

I got my KPB V60 today. It's my first ANSI keyboard.

The problem is:

When I plug it in, nothing happens, it doesn't work.
It pops up in the device manager as USB-HID Keyboard, but dissappears again quite fast.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to change settings when switching from ISO to ANSI layout?
Do i miss something special about this keyboard?
Or is it just broken?

Regards

If this doesn't happen with any other keyboard I'm thinking you might have to RMA. Have you tried other USB sockets? Perhaps you found a dusty socket.

Maybe someone else knows something about the KBP v60 that I don't.

I tried different cables, but all cables work with my Poker but none with the V60.  :(

That sounds, less than ideal.

Oh my god ...
It works! I have no idea how and why, all I did was letting the keyboard sit a few hours and now it actually works.

Maybe it was too cold and needed to get to room temperature first .. I don't know.

Damn, and I already opened a RMA ticket on Massdrop  :-X

Definitely keep an eye on it, the v60 should be plug and play.

Did you leave it outside for a little bit? Aside from being iced over, or snowed on, that keyboard should be able to withstand inside ambient temperatures. :/

I would still RMA it. You don't know what intermittent issues can occur in the future.
