New Keyboard, need tipssss
« on: Thu, 10 March 2016, 16:27:19 »
Hi guys! First post here  ;D
I`m from Italy,I read a lot here and around, but I need some trick and tips :P
Here we cant find a beatiful keyboard like in all other country, and if u find u`ll pay more more more than usual :D

Now ì`m writing from my first mechanical keyboard, cm storm kt brown switch. I trying to selling this for buy a real keyboard.
I love design like vamilo v87 (leopold tlk) and in general the tlk keyboard with PBT keyboard. I never tried a PBT keycaps, but  really want to know the "new feeling" on my fingers and bcs ABS keycaps on my tk are always oily (I clean up as a daughter everytime)
I never tried a keyboard without LED, but I usually play and write with low light...what about visibility? I dont watch keyboard for write...buuut idk I`m uncertain.

I search in a lot of website, but usually they dont ship in Italy or usually must pay the tax (22%)...sooo expensive.

Do u have any advise? Do u know someone that usually ship in Italy?
My budget is around 100-120$ (but I really need to spend less), and I can also go for used keyboard, preferably modded. I love colored keyboard with strange keycaps  :thumb:

Shop around on the Deskthority marketplace and on https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket to look for second hand keyboards from people in EU. Deskthority is almost 100% EU, while reddit is predominantly US but still has many from EU. You may find what you're looking for there.

That's a good board. Just make sure the seller is trustworthy and that it is in good condition.

I`m just afraid about oily keycaps XD
I hate when keycaps became oily...PBT is the right answer? Bcs on my cm storm tk it was a war agaist that...every day I try to clean up, but always the same...they are consumed =(

and what about filco majestouch 2 ninja tlk? I read some review that describe like a perfect tlk keyboard, but the problem is:
- no detechable cable (is this a problem? is it strong?)
- no PBT keycaps
I`m afraid of this keycaps...is more better than my cm kt? I love clean keycaps, but I think if i spend 150 Euro I dont want clean every week...and i dont want to consume them.

Have you checked out Leopold or Varmilo? Always PBT.

Varmilo PBT caps with the side printed legends are somehow legible with backlight. The switch LEDs face the spacebar

Add a Pegasus Hoof to it and it will be perfect.

- no detechable cable (is this a problem? is it strong?)
You can buy an aftermarket mod from Pexon's store or make your own detachable mod, like I did. [1] [2]

- no PBT keycaps
Stock keycaps on my Filco MJ2 are just terrible, but you can always replace them. Surely the Ninja variant would feel better because legends are printed on front.

W8...
What is that controller? I`m new noob for mechanical keyboard, I just know the switch, some OEM and something like that. How that controller fix the filco problem with keycaps and usb cable?
The problem is the shipment in Italy. Everytime I buy from USA I must pay 22%+ custom taxes. So It will be sooo expensive buy keycaps set, fix cable and other things.
So I dont know if is better buy a filco ninja tlk from UK (150 euro) or try to buy a leopold fc750r from korea at 156 euro. The ebay`s seller tell me "Hello,
If you buy a keyboard from me, When i ship the keyboard i will mark it as 'gift', and a value of US$20.
Thank you."

About the controller Biphanies's Pegasus Hoof Controller If you want the controller I would email to ask if it will work with your keyboard version.

Yea, I thought maybe Vamilo would be easier to find since you're closer to the source.  :-[

What is that controller?
A programmable controller for TKL Filcos, there are controllers for other keyboards too.
It allows you full remap of keys and macros support.
If you're interested in a second hand fullsize Filco with MX blacks PM me.

I dont understand why i should buy a new controller if I buy a filco. That controller is just for personalize the switch, like macro?
I search something for Varmilo, but I find only on massdrop or amazon.com...so it`s hard to take in Italy.
