[HELP] V80 "Alps" PCB lifted pad fix
« on: Sat, 04 February 2017, 09:46:04 »
Replaced the switches on my V80 "alps" edition with orange alps and can't seem to get my 7 key to work properly. In the soldering process I lifted the pad (where the jumper is connected to the switch).

I by no means really know what I'm doing here, tried soldering a jumper first from this to the corresponding pin on the 8 switch but then just got 8 output for both 8 & 7.
Now I tried soldering the jumper to the 6 diode and the 7 will work if I hit both 6 & 8 as well.

Any thoughts on where this jumper needs to actually go? There aren't many references from what I can find on ALPS PCB's (understandably so) for this type of stuff, just Cherry but again I'm lost.

Appreciate any help.

Hopefully I'm not boned?

update-

fixed it by jumping it to the U switch below

looks like the trace is obviously on the other side of the PCB which I can't get a good view of for obvious reasons. Should've taken a picture of it lol, guess I'll have to keep playing around with jumpers since I really don't want to desolder everything to see it.

Try shorting the lifted pad pin to an adiacent switch. Remove the jumper first.
My opensource projects: GH80-3000, TOAD, XMMX. Classified: stuff
