Have issue with SA keycap on Filco spacebar
« on: Mon, 13 March 2017, 10:44:30 »
So I had an issue with a SA spacebar fitting on a Filco. What I did upon reading was tape 2 small strips of tape to each of the little white crosses (stabilizers?) and pushed the spacebar on top. It has not wiggled or anything after doing so but my question is will this mess up the spacerbar inserts? Should I have just gotten bigger stabilizers(white cross thingies?)

Thank you

It shouldn't hurt anything that is the typical fix for any issues with costar stabilizers that don't fit correctly.

You can also use small pieces of plastic bag material to do the same.

SP's mx stems are known to fit loosely on switches. Not just SA but their dsc and dsa lines also have loosed inserts

I tried 2 small pieces (and 3) of the plastic bag and did not work so I went with the tape. It kept wobbling quite weirdly.

Do you or anyone else happen to know if people do the same for the modifiers with stabilizers in them?I only did it for the spacebar but was wondering if I should do it for those too.

Yea I taped all of them. Some of the inserts were so big even mx clears feel loose

Ah all right that sounds pretty good I will go ahead and do the same! First SA kit so I am super stoked. Also, no one every does this for the regular alphas that only have the switch correct? (they feel fine for me) Only for the ones with stabilizers?
