Hi.

I got this '88 Model M with what I think is a 180-degree DIN plug.

The cable is detachable and the keyboard plug looks like a regular SDL plug:

I have loads of SDL-PS/2 cables around from my other Model Ms (even spare ones) and my motherboard (ASRock Z270 Taichi) has a PS/2 port. I am wondering if using one of those SDL-PS/2 cables on this keyboard would work.

I did not test it because I am afraid of blowing up the controller or the motherboard.

Yes, it should work fine.
"We are on the precipice of signing an agreement to advance talks with Iran that preserves the good parts of former President Barack Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while amplifying its flaws.
Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

Yes, an SDL to PS/2 cable will work fine. Or if you can find one, a small DIN to PS/2 passive adapter on that cable will also work.

The important question though...did you pay for Winrar?

Thanks to both. I might have a couple of those at home (I work in another place), but they are so cheap in Amazon that I just ordered one.

Sort of. There are licensed Winrar copies installed in the computers in my job. As I usually bring work home, I have also brought the license with me. It's fair, I think.
