Flashing a UT47.2 through QMK GUI + Toolbox: doable?
« on: Sat, 31 August 2019, 01:06:22 »
I got my UT47.2 capped, but I'd like to redo the keymap to my preferences.
QMK GUI doesn't have much for this keyboard. For those interested, I'm attaching the JSON I used for this particular keymap.

I don't know much about nor use Github. I flash my keyboards using the QMK GUI and QMK Toolbox.
Is this a safe procedure here?

The UT47.2 documentation doesn't talk about it, referring only to the compiling option.
Hence why I'm hesitant to flash this new firmware to it. As far as I can see, it SHOULD work (being careful to select the atmega32u2 controller). I made sure to include the RGB commands as well.
If I'm wrong though I may not recover from this! Hence why I'd rather make sure...

Thanks for any confirmation/warnings!

Flashing worked just fine, and new keymap is uploaded. Some stuff is weird, that's for another thread.

How did you get the UT47 into DFU mode? I just put together my UT47.2 kit, and supposedly you can hold down ESC while plugging in to trigger the bootloader, but it's not working for me.

QMK toolbox keeps saying:

*** Keyhive - UT47.2 disconnected -- 0xFEED:0x0
*** Keyhive - UT47.2 connected -- 0xFEED:0x0

...but it never sees the device ready to flash.

There's a reset button at the bottom of the PCB.
You can also map one of the keys/key combinations to Reset the board (I've not tried it on UT47.2, but it's worked on another of my QMK boards).

I used QMK Toolbox for everything: I check 'auto-flash' or whatever it's called, press the physical Reset button, and then it's all automatic from there.
