HHKB warranty
« on: Fri, 01 May 2020, 17:43:39 »
Is the two year warranty that HHKB provides really good. I really want to open up my board and lube the stabs but if the warranty is really good thinking of just waiting the two years. It will be tough though with the  loud stab rattle do not know if I can make it that long.

Oh snap man wrong board for the question. You should probably post this question there. I think that is how it works.  :thumb:

Edit: I love how I said where but never gave the name of the board, its the  Keyboard board I believe.

Though if this is a sneaky interest check I am curious.

A mod already moved it :). As for the warranty, they won't do anything for rattly stabs. Lubing an hhkb is super easy though, here's a guide:

What is the chance that it fails in a way that won't be blamed on "wear and tear"?  Personally I think slim so once I'm happy anything works I'll void the warranty without hesitation.

That is assuming the warranty is even valid in the first place as most are only valid in the country of sale, which I'm guessing doesn't apply.

I agree. I just have not had any warranties that honored their coverage. They have always found a way to not cover the issue or you have to go through alot of shipping and telephone trouble shooting just to get coverage. I just wanted to check in the community to see if anyone can vouch for the quality of their service. I have yet to find a person who would.

Fortune favors the bold. Lads, lube your stabs. While you’re in there you might as well lube the rails as well.
