Hey everyone!
I finally created an account here after being a long-time lurker, although I am in the hobby for over a year now.
My very first keyboard was a Vortex Race3 with Cherry MX Reds. The first time I started typing I already thought "Oh my, that is going to be expensive". It did not take that long and I went in on my first group buy which a TX EO87 with the crystal clear case and grey top, which is simply gorgeous and currently waits to be build. After trying most Cherry and Gateron Switches, I am still looking for right switch for this build. After that, I bought a HHKB Professional Hybrid Type-S because, well I was interested what it is all about. I wish I would have never bought a HHKB because Topre is simply pure love for me, and now my biggest wish is to build up a HHKB/Topre Collection.
I got a side-project going in the newsletter/blog/publishing area, therefore I am typing quite a lot on a daily-basis, and Topre feels just incredible, might be endgame for me once I started modding, although I am already in love with my stock Hybrid Type-S.
What I love about the whole keyboard community is to see all the incredible craftmanship, seeing the works of RAMA or Keycult just amazes me, I love that. Also, the creativity. I am working as a full-time digital product designer, working on apps, and there are quite a few other designers in my twitter bubble who just started designing their own keycap-sets. I love that and I also think you hardly will find something comparable in any other hobby.
As the title says, I have been a long-time lurker, but I finally want to dive in deep, and I think geekhack is the right place to stay informed, discuss, and learn everything about keyboards.
So, here I am! Excited to meet you all online!
All the best,
pippolonius
