Modify a Rosewill RK-9000 LED?
« on: Mon, 14 February 2011, 16:37:26 »
I love my Rosewill RK-9000, but damn that blue LED is blindigly bright!
I have an almost identical Filco at work (under bright fluorescents) and never noticed this.  However, my Rosewill in my home lighting is like a laser staring me down.

Is it easy to replace with a dimmer LED?
any have info on changing a Filco/Rosewill LED to a lower power or diff color?

my temporary solution:

- Filco Majestouch 104 (Cherry brown) - metallic blue, usa
- Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless (Cherry blue) - black, usa
- PLU ML-87 (Cherry brown) - white, usa
- Rosewill RK-9000 (Cherry blue) - black, usa
- IBM Model M, 1989 (buckling spring) - beige, usa
- Unicomp SpaceSaver 104 (buckling spring) - black, usa

I know what you mean, have you tried not staring into its welcoming blue glow?

I'd guinea pig this, but I don't have a soldiering iron or a multimeter right now. Also don't feel like voiding the warranty, yet. The dimmer LEDs will most likely require a resistor to account for the change in voltage. Then again I'm not an electrical engineer.
