I'm a bit paranoid at work. There's always lunch thefts and sometimes missing equipment. Kind of surprised by it actually in corporate... Anwyay I was thinking of getting an inconspicuous (to the look -- it's going to be clicky) board.

My computer has a physical locking cable, my monitor should. What about the keyboard?

I did some searches on the forum for keyboard locks and security and such with no luck. Curious as to whether you find it worthwhile to lock your keyboard. Pretty sure it would have to be a lock on the frame.

You have to drill a hole in the frame yourself.

eot: I would rather use epoxy than superglue. The only thing is I want to be able to take the keyboard home one day (not the keyboard AND desk).

There were similar questions asked here somewhere. Don't know if anyone suggested anything else besides "don't worry, they won't know it's anything special".
A realforce looks pretty bland and generic, a blackwidow would be a more likely candidate to get stolen.

If it's a tenkeyless then I'd just get a bag and either carry it with me or throw it in the trunk of my car away from prying eyes.

How do you secure laptops?
At my workplace we have a huge safe for storing our laptops at night. I don't store my dirty modded Cherry keyboard there, but if it was a Realforce, then perhaps I would.

Yeah, you could cut the proper hole for a Kensington lock. I think there are some of those that you can glue onto it and use, but I'm not sure.

Find a good spot in the case and drill away.  You have to know someone with a drill.  Then when you take it home you can say it's a piercing and put one of those aboriginal ear spikes in it or something.

All the security like glue or locks will cost the bad guys 5 minutes, no more. So if you are worried, bring your keyboard with you all times.

But that is lame, since you are too attached to your possessions. We human are not tortoise, who carry its home anywhere it goes.

when I was a kid Nobody ever locked their damn keyboards. People were neighborly, we'd all be looking out for eachother. Wireless was always unsecured, front doors unlocked. Days were longer. We was good, kind, god-loving people. Don't know what went wrong. Just time is all I guess.:frown:

Do you have a file cabinet drawer that can be locked? You could put your keyboard there overnight.

I think that's what I'm going to start doing when I take an M15 back to work.

Well they have things made for these kinda situations. Not exactly but.. continue on.

There are slot covers that go on the back of your computer such as .

What you do it thread the cable in and out of the slot connector, then plug the keyboard in.
This way you have to take the whole computer instead of the keyboard. :D

Nobody steals my 1391401 at work.  The grey fake suede glued to the case and blood-red caps make it easy to spot and difficult to sell.  I suppose a glued-on "Property of Hak Foo" sticker might be a less prominent way to achieve the same aims.
