THICK keycap set?
« on: Tue, 01 November 2011, 10:07:56 »
Hi

After trying some noppoo keycaps on my cm storm quickfire rapid I know I prefer THICK pbt or pom keycaps

Anyone know where to get that?

I think the only recent group buy going on for pbt keycaps is this one. http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?21177-new-group-for-KBC-keycaps-including-104 (ideal prices)
unless we manage to get a manufacturer to supply WASD with pbt.

They look thick enough to me, but I am not the best judge I suppose.

PBT .8mm according to the wiki
a filco standard appear to be ABS .9mm

Numbers in the Key Ref wiki stickied above.
Is there any documentation on the original Dolch keycaps? I could not find them in the Wiki as far as I could tell. Ctrl+F to no avail, unless they are under another name.

So in other words that used cherry doubleshots group buy is probably exactly right for them.

Cherry are thick, but abs. Not sure which is most important, thickness or material. The KBC PBT aren't thicker than stock keycaps, but they seem denser. The KBC POM 'jellies' seem to be thicker.

I like the thick WYSE doubleshot keys I have, I paid $20 shipped for them. They're not the thickest (there was a topic on it once with some real monsters) They are ABS, though.

Also, WOW that's a pretty thick keycap! It's POM on the noppoo, right?
