USB 3.0 Card
« on: Mon, 27 February 2012, 16:12:14 »
I have been building a PC from some older hardware, so nothing too powerful, however I do want to eventually invest in a USB 3.0 Card. I want one port to be internal so that I can connect the front USB ports to it. I also want to have at least 2 ports in the back, I haven't found much for my requirements. Any suggestions?

Syba has really bad reviews from what I've been researching. I saw their cards, they fit my needs and budget perfectly, but I don't want to waste my money on a worthless card.

Maybe something like this might be of interest. No idea about how legit this site is, but they are very hard to find these type with internal header and external port, usually one or the other.

There's only 1 USB3 chipset that I'm aware of, how bad could they have screwed it up?

NewEgg has the SIIG version of the card... identical aside from SATA instead of Molex for power.  That and 5x 5* reviews.

So I just learned that there are indeed more than 1 USB3 chipset out now... Via (crap!) and TI... The SIIG card above has the TI chip.
