Hey all!
« on: Mon, 01 October 2012, 11:55:32 »
Well, since I haven't done this yet I thought I might as well. Hey guys (and gals?) I'm Cody aka Cobertt (my handle for just about everything) and I am pretty new to the mechanical keyboard game. When I was younger I used a mechanical keyboard, I have no idea what model, but I can remember my uncles keyboard being the coolest thing to use. I recently got back into the PC game after playing first person shooters on consoles at top levels. I bought my very own mechanical keyboard right after my computer was done. I got a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, without much research. Eventually the glowing lights started to bother me and the font on the keyboard was quite strange. I was ready for a change. I just ordered a completely custom WASD keyboard after spending hours on the editor. I've been looking for something to occupy my time lately besides games and keyboards have caught my fancy. I am really excited to be part of this community and I think that I am really going to enjoy collecting keys, especially those CC's. I am also interested in finding some vintage boards as well as others such as the Joker and HHKB's. I've already received some welcomes, and just wanted to say thanks!  ;D

Welcome to Geekhack!

It can become a somewhat addictive hobby - you seem to have come prepared :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
