Paypal locking accounts
« on: Mon, 22 October 2012, 12:29:06 »
Right now I have 42 orders for poker plates, I plan on sending out about 7 invoices per day over 7 days, is that too many? Will PP lock my account?

I send out about 200 invoice in 2-3 days, no problem. The thing they lock the account for is not shipping within some period after the payment is recieve. So just mark it as shipped and make it clear in the thread it hasn't and hope people don't file a dispute. The other thing they like to lock for is too many gift payment, but that dosen't apply here I suppose. That's sadly about the best you can do with the way paypal is. They don't seem to understand concept of preorder.
Alternately you could see if marking the invoice as a service instead of mechandise would be of any help in that matter.

How do you mark invoices as merchandise? I already have the 3% + .30 service fees added onto all orders

Merchandise is default, if you look at the page when you make invoice it has for shipping etc, service dosen't have those fields, but I can't remember how to get that. Might have to have a buisiness level account.

That's fine, if you sent out 200 invoices in one day and didn't get you account locked, I'm sure 42 shouldn't lock it either

It also depends on the amount transfered over how much time. The first group buy we ran was about 12k total revenue. All of that got transfered to our paypal account instantly (we were processing transactions with paypal before we built our own solution) and It was immediately locked.

Good times.

Well I've gotten about $800 in the past day and no lock yet, hopefully it stays that way
