I should clarify that I was only a lurker cause my profile originally got banned from posting when I first created the account in 2021 because I was using a VPN (i think). Not sure how I got unbanned

A person might think about the large community and active engagement of the group. They might also appreciate the warm reception and sense of belonging that such a popular and well-read welcome message suggests. youtube vanced

I guess I should introduce myself. Hello to everyone who is in one way or another involved in the Keycaps hobby. I am starting to move in this direction and am creating my own design. I hope I can share my work with you as soon as I figure out what's what on this forum  ;D ;D

what's what on this forum  ;D ;D
It's practically dead anyway.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Hello everyone! I'm new here.

Finally decided to get a custom keyboard today.
After long research and reading dozens of blogs, I ended up on this forum.

Right now, I have a Logitech G910 Orion, which I've been using for about six or seven years.
I'm planning to order a GMK87 (starting small :)) + Akko Rosewood
We'll see where it goes from there!

Hi everyone, I just learned about this community after someone from Reddit pointed out. I'm still a noob and would like to delve more into the mechanical keyboard hobby. Looking forward to learning from you all, and maybe even contributing something useful down the line.

Hi everyone,
I’m excited to finally join the Geekhack community after spending quite some time lurking, reading builds, mod guides, and sound tests. I’m a mechanical keyboard enthusiast based in Indonesia, and I’ve been deep-diving into this hobby over the past 4 years. Looking forward to learning more from you all, sharing experiences, and maybe even participating in some group buys down the line

Saludos.

Hello and thank you for the warm welcome and the WARNING on the wallet, I'm afraid its a little too late for that now....

Looking forward to getting stuck into the forum and reading up on everyone's experience. Seems like there is a wealth of knowledge out there to be tapped into.

Thanks again, keep clacking.

Hello all! I'm a new member. I designed some keyboard parts myself. I'm a builder, and I'm excited to be a part of this community of fellow keyboard nerds. I have designed a few products myself that I'm working on. It's very cool to be among people who like to create things also. I am just excited to dive into this community.

Hey folks,

I’m Retrokid from the Netherlands 🇳🇱. I’ve been typing for years on my 1991 trusty Cherry G80-3000 HEU/004 with MX Clears.  A board that’s been through more with me than my wife has (don’t tell her 😅).

I’m still a bit of a keyboard noob, but I’ve recently caught the bug again. The dream? An IBM Model M 122-key, purely for those nostalgic server-room vibes from my dad’s factory.

Thanks in advance for all the wisdom and for the warning to watch my wallet.

Too late, I fear. 💸

Cheers,
Retrokid

New here but have been in the hobby a year now! I stream builds and just recently got into designing. Posting here 'cause I don't seem to have the ability to post anywhere. The rules say new members are restricted from posting in the Classifieds or GB sections, but it looks like every post requires moderator approval for some reason.

Hi everyone.  I've added a new post to this forum but have been awaiting about a week for it to be approved - perhaps I posted some unknowingly controversial stuff in there!  I'm gonna try saying hello on here instead to see if I can make it past the GH gatekeepers!

Greetings from the USA. Not the biggest keyboard addict but going from a nameless brand keyboard from craigslist to keychron was quite the experience (no hate on the craigslist keyboard, it did its duty well for being free). Don't think that experience will ever happen again but I'm certain that at the very least, I will find a keyboard on here that I will be happy with one day or another (even if my keychron is honestly all I will ever need).

I've been following the mechanical keyboard hobby for a while, and recently I became interested in trying to build my first MX board seriously. That's one of the reasons I decided to join Geekhack, so I can learn from the community here.

I'm happy to join this community and look forward to learning and sharing experiences with everyone here.
