Ducky Year Of The Snake Questions/Discussion
« on: Fri, 21 June 2013, 21:59:15 »
Hey guys!

I am thinking about buying a second board soon, and I want to get something backlit with MX Browns. I am very interested in getting a Year of the snake as long as it doesn't have the camo case. Does anyone know anything more about it? Or anything in regards to the expected release date of this keyboard. Also does anyone know of a YoTD Browns that is selling for around 70$?

The Ducky Yot boards generally don't depreciate in value as they are considered collectors items, so I'm not too sure you'll find one for $70. GL though.

Supposedly the Year of the Snake board is going to have an aluminum case, which sounds pretty neat. If the price is anything like Ducky's other boards then it will be a steal for an aluminum case.

http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=85563&vpn=DK9008Shine3-YOS%20Red&manufacture=Ducky

Says $220 here, if it indeed is the one with aluminum case then it's a pretty awesome price lol.

Look at this. so far it looks pretty nice. Seems they are only making 999 of them.  One thing that I can see that looks bad is if you look at the front of the keyboard the keys seem to bearly stick out of the body.  Hopefully they fix that before release.

And seems like only the top cover is aluminum, the bottom base still look like it's plastic.

Unless they paint the bottom black but I doubt it.  >___>

If its a limited edition aluminum case tkl ducky for $220, I wouldn't doubt they did just a thin metal top cover.

That would be kind of lame. Although still might get it, I want a backlight ducky.

If you actually look at the pictures of the aluminum Ducky's then you would notice that the bottom is made out of black plastic. It is only an aluminum cover.

There is also a reason why the aluminum cover is a rectangular shape and not slanted near the bottom. A rectangular prism is much easier and cheaper to make.

There's still new 2012 YOTDs around.

However this one might be more hyped. I'll likely pass anyway, and especially if it's in the $200 range.

That's a good idea :)

Although from the above pic is looks like only 999 of them.

Ducky originally said Shine 78 edition would only have 78, but that was revised to 399.

I suspect sharks can swim faster than ducks, so the duck would never catch the shark :p

the dragon's are still around from some venders
but the Rabbits are hard as heck to find now.

well just from our classified section and GB i think the various china venders still have YOTD around
specific colors maybe sold out, but the keyboard itself is available.

http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=85563&vpn=DK9008Shine3-YOS%20Red&manufacture=Ducky

Says $220 here, if it indeed is the one with aluminum case then it's a pretty awesome price lol.

I just pre-ordered one, if news comes forth that it isn't the aluminum case I'll just cancel the pre-order =D

Looks like it'll be $220 at Ncix.us for anyone curious about pricing: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=85561&vpn=DK9008Shine3-YOS%20Brown&manufacture=Ducky. That's for the one with MX Browns, but it seems like the prices for all the other switches (MX Black, Red, Blue) are the same on the website.
