Need Some Help Picking Out A Keyboard
« on: Thu, 28 March 2013, 19:42:54 »
Hey guys,

Still a newbie to mechanical keyboards. I have my hands on the Ultimate Switch Tester as of right now I have tried all the switches and like all of them but I still feel like I love blues and have began to love greens. Currently I am using the Blackwidow from Razer and even just from the switch tester board I can tell that my keyboard is pretty poorly built compared to other boards out there.

Now I need your help. Being a noob in this field, what would you recommend for me for a new keyboard? I'm looking for:
- Backlit keys
- Cherry MX Blues/Greens
- Full board (with numpad)
- Sturdy board with sturdy key caps
- $130-140 budget.

Thanks for all your help. I really do appreciate it.

If by sturdy key caps you imply PBT, then only Deck Legend comes to my mind as backlit PBT.

what would you recommend for me for a new keyboard?

Since you tend to like stiff greens, I would recommend forget about backlit and try buckling spring keyboard like Unicomp or IBM Model M. Unicomp starts at $79 and comes with PBT keycaps.

This is kinda simple, the only board that meets all of your specifications will be a Ducky. Well, technically Razer as well, but that doesn't count does it?

Really? What about: RK-9100 or CM Trigger, or Nighthawk X7, etc?
