Actually that argument started before both even hit store shelves.

It only intensified when schools signed deals with Apple, while almost all businesses were using everything but. It only slowed when Apple just about went under.

I guess, I don't really know much about that period as I didn't know much about it back then, I just remember those ad's bringing at least alot of new people into that argument and people who had no real right to an opinion started acting as if they knew anything about how computers worked etc... that was tiresome

Since when has one needed knowledge to have an argument or opinion?
If that was the case, Fox News would have been off the air years ago.  :))
