Questions about Keycool 108 and other stuff
« on: Fri, 19 April 2013, 12:03:49 »
Hi, folks!  I'm buying my first mechanical keyboard soon.  I know that I want brown switches and the 108-key style keyboard like Ducky's.
I was also looking at the Keycool 108, but I don't know enough yet to decide.  I found the Keycool 108 here http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=403
It's not listed on the English version of their website http://www.kc-keycool.com/en/ ; just the Chinese side here http://www.kc-keycool.com/product.php?mod=detail&id=35.  And I can't find any reviews on it.

I hope you knowledgeable guys don't mind answering a few questions for me.

1.)  Is Keycool a good reliable brand comparable to Ducky?

2.) How do I know if it will be 100% compatible on US Windows?

3.) It comes with POM keycaps.  They seem to be rare.  I've read they are slick, but the pictures show a kind of texture.  Are they good?

4.) Keycool 108 switches are plate-mounted, while Ducky is PCB.  Is one better?

5.) What's the point of NKRO toggle button?  Why would you want to turn it off?

I hope that's not too much for 1 thread.  Your help is appreciated.

1) modern Keycool keyboards have earned a good reputation.  Keep in mind the space bar is incompatible with most everything else.
2) seriously?
3) yes.
4) Ducky is also plate mounted.
5) some BIOS puke on some implementations of NKRO; hence the option to turn it off.
