Matt3o's riddle for Geekhack
« on: Wed, 15 May 2013, 07:22:42 »
The first super-secret Matt3o's Riddle for Geekhack has been solved by jdcarpe.

What's the MRFGH?

For no particular reason and without the official support of Geekhack, I've added a secret message inside my signature. Decoding the message you get an URL where you are presented with a riddle to solve. If you answer correctly you get a prize. The harder the riddle the bigger the prize.

The first riddle was: aHR0cDovL2N1YmlxLm9yZy9naC1yaWRkbGUuaHRtbAo= that is base64 for http:// cubiq.org/gh-riddle.html
Question was: Blue : Green = Black : ?, answer Dark Grey
The prize was: Rainbow caps

Congratulations to jdcarpe and stay tuned for the next riddle (that will be harder of course).

Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

The biggest part of the riddle was discovering that there was a riddle!

And it didn't happen while you slept, moose. I solved it yesterday. :)

That's what I was thinking. Ah well. Maybe if signatures were bigger, I could have seen it. ;)

The barcode was a quote from the Matrix (not wall-e).

FYI: the first riddle took 1 week to be solved.
