Nighthawk X8
« on: Thu, 29 August 2013, 18:24:06 »
Ok I found a Nighthawk X8 instead of ducky. Now would an alienware 06G6JW motherboard support going into the bios? I see that it has NKRO is that over PS2 or USB?

if it doesn't do the NKRO over USB hack, then there should not be any BIOS issues.

since Max keyboards don't do this, yes, there should be no BIOS problems.

I'm not familiar with that motherboard - I was responding to the keyboard question which is a real issue for some keyboards (Noppoo, Ducky DIP switch setting, etc).

The keyboard, itself considered, is most compatible with Windows.

It looks like USB NKRO, so whether it works or not in bios is a huge maybe.

Ok guys thanks for the replies. :) I'm used to it not working in the bios K90..... I have a membrane keyboard lying around if I need to hop into the bios was just wondering if it would work. So as long as I'm in windows it should work with NKRO?

ProTip: the X51's "06G6JW" motherboard is a corner-and-quality slashed MSI H61 board. Dell was so cheap, they didn't even opt for the battery holder.

So what does that mean for me?

No USB N-KRO. Not that 99% of people can even use it. Highly unlikely Dell licensed UEFI USBHID since they had MSI slash quality and make the part in China.

Ducky Shine 3 definitely works fine in Bios, even though it DOES do Nkey rollover in windows, it's only 6 key in Bios.
I tested it on an old Abit BH6 motherboard, and the shine 3 worked fine in real mode DOS and in Bios.  Only 6 key rollover there.

I don't care about NKRO in bios I just care that I can get in and work in the bios.
