The rest was made by another geekhack member as an experiment (not something for sale) and then i stained it and added varnish. The wood i think is maple or birch i forgot.

Thank you. I think I'd like to do something similar one day. Since I think the classic style case looks way better.
I'm so sorry to hear about the bad quality of the aluminium case. I also don't like the acrylic look so much but in this case it sounds like the better alternative.
I hope to be able to join in round 4 on ErgoDox classics with some MX Blues as my first mechanical keyboard!  :))

I read through this and still don't see the answer, should I get classic or full hand? And which one can tent?

Both can tent, although the classic case is probably going to be easier to do so due to it's smaller size. And it really depends on whether you want built in palm rests.

I suppose you could always add hand rests to the classic?

Thanks for the response.

Yeah, you could, but they'd have to be custom ala Glod's or kurplop's

If anybody is interested, I could make a limited number of "Glod style" tented palm rests (Ergodock's) for a $25 donation to geekhack. They would be unfinished and would require some finish sanding. Because of shipping , CONUS only.

PM me if interested.
