Filco 2 Ninja Keycaps

I just got my first mech keyboard around a week ago and everything is great, except the blank top keycaps. I'm not sure what it is, but after 10-15 min of playing an fps game where my fingers are constantly pressed on the WASD keys, they feel like they become coated with a thin film of gunk/oil and it's a really awkward feeling that bothers me. I'm sure this is some type of oil from my fingers, but I'm coming from a scissor switch apple keyboard and never had this issue with that keyboard.

I've read that the Filcos use cheap keycaps, so could this be the case? Would a replacement set of some quality caps fix the issue?

What's the texture like on PBT? The ones I have now seem very thin and the surface is very slippery smooth.

Also where to get PBT set for a FILCO2? Is there a popular set most people tend to get?

PBT has a better texture to it, not as smooth and soft as ABS.

Any PBT set with a standard layout should work with your Filco. There's actually a group-buy going on right now for a 104/105 thick-PBT keyset, and they're offering blanks or black-on-black dyesubed legends. Link here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50935.0

If it is mainly WASD while gaming, you could try looking for a set of just PBT WASD to start with.

If that drastically improves things, then start searching for a full set.

PBT keycaps tend to have a dryer, more powdery feel to them.
