Not sure what you need the higher permission for... but like for myself I often modify system files for UI tweaks and icon replacement, so I use this to give me the permissions over them.
Some permissions denied so far: simply editing a txt file in a Program Files folder, moving/copying files from networked drives to various folders (by far the most frustrating as W8 requires files to be moved elsewhere first), opening apps only to have them crash unexpectedly or to find out later they can't write to disk due to not being launched with 'Run as admin' (seriously, I
am the admin), in addition to all the various superflous dialogs for simple things requiring admin authentication.
In XP and OSX there are none of these heavy-handed restrictions to the admin account. Having to take ownership of each individual file/folder I'd like to have full control over seems like a workaround to a bigger problem. Surely there's a better way...
