Plate Mount Question
« on: Sun, 14 July 2019, 20:50:01 »
I looked it up and I have some basic understanding of the differences between them but I still don't understand it. Most of the mounts just seem like screw the plate and case together or put a stop gap between the plate and the case but with different names for some reason. Can someone help me understand better?

Most mouting solutions do just have the plate screw into the case, but it is all about how they do it. Tray mount means that the plate is lowered into the case and attaches to 5 standoffs located on the inside of the case. Top Mount means that the plate is put into the case through the bottom and the plate screws into the top "bezel" from underneath. Sandwich mount has the plate "sandwiched" between the top and bottom portions of the case.

Each mounting style have their own advantages (and disadvantages). The most notable differences are in stiffness and sound.
